The evening was organised by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lata.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">LATA<\/a>\u00c2 (the Latin American Travel Association) whose charitable branch &#8211; the\u00c2 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.latafoundation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">LATA Foundation<\/a>\u00c2 has supported both the Alalay medical centre and now, the quail farm project.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/alalay.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/annie-at-house-of-lords.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1544 alignleft\" title=\"annie at house of lords\" src=\"http:\/\/alalay.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/annie-at-house-of-lords-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"http:\/\/alalay.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/annie-at-house-of-lords-300x199.jpg 300w, http:\/\/alalay.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/annie-at-house-of-lords.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>It was a fantastic event with the opportunity to speak with a great number of interesting people, including representatives from the Bolivian Embassy, alongside members of the press and travel industries.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 24px;\">Invited guests included Michael Palin; <\/span><span style=\"line-height: 24px;\">Baroness Hooper, <\/span><span style=\"line-height: 24px;\">Chairman of<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 24px;\"> the All-Party Parliamentary British-Latin <\/span><span style=\"line-height: 24px;\">America Group; the\u00c2 <\/span><span style=\"line-height: 24px;\">Rt Hon Hugo Swire MP, Minister of State at the Foreign Office;\u00c2 <\/span><span style=\"line-height: 24px;\">and\u00c2 <\/span><span style=\"line-height: 24px;\">archaeologist Dr Jago Cooper, presenter of the BBC&#8217;s Lost Kingdoms\u00c2 of South America series) amongst many others.\u00c2 <\/span>You can see much more information about the event <a href=\"http:\/\/www.latafoundation.org\/newsholder\/HouseofLords\/\" target=\"_blank\">HERE<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>[photo credit: Adrian Pope, the LATA Foundation]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was delighted to be invited for a second time to attend a reception at the House of Lords in the last week of January.
