During these years we:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>During 2023, financed Phase 1 of the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Positive Discipline Programme\u00e2\u20ac\u009d for all Alalay staff (in Santa Cruz and La Paz) \u00e2\u20ac\u201c equipping them with the necessary tools to better support our kids \u00e2\u20ac\u201c read more about its methodology <a href=\"http:\/\/alalay.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/2023-newsletter-christmas.pdf\">HERE<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kept supporting the Alalay Foundation as the staff and children continued to protect themselves and begin to recover from the <a href=\"http:\/\/alalay.co.uk\/?p=3716\">COVID-19 pandemic<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Financed our eldest children through their&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/alalay.co.uk\/?p=3137\">vocational training<\/a>&nbsp;courses<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Paid the salary of a&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/alalay.co.uk\/?p=1789\">house mother<\/a>, so she could continue her vital work bringing up and educating our children<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Funded the production of fresh Christmas&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/alalay.co.uk\/?p=3360\">panettone<\/a>&nbsp;(to sell and generate further income) which has been a great success in recent years<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Read more in detail about our planned\/completed recent projects in our newsletters, found&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/alalay.co.uk\/?page_id=1036\">HERE<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plus we continued to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Raise awareness of the plight of the street children in the UK and elsewhere<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Work together with Alalay staff in Bolivia to identify future needs and establish more production projects, with the eventual aim of making Alalay largely financially self-sufficient.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Seventeenth\/eighteenth year As always, in 2022-2023 our focus remained on&nbsp;helping Bolivian street children to help themselves.
