Busy times in Bristol and Bolivia!

The last few weeks have been busy in both Bristol and Bolivia.

Here in Bristol we’ve held various events, such as the Cotham School Fiesta where we had a stall – telling people about Alalay and its work with street children, selling small Bolivian items, running “guess the name of the (Bolivian!) monkey” and premiering our new “catch the mouse” game, which was a great success!

And in Santa Cruz, Bolivia the Alalay kids have been hard at work too! Firstly, they were invited to participate in a day organised by the local Government, working on an initial draft of new government statutes with other young people. Then they appeared on TV as part of the fundraising “Centamaraton” (see my previous post HERE to find out more about this initiative). And finally, they joined in with Alalay’s first “family day” where parents and children involved in Alalay’s prevention programme came together to play games and join in activities centred around the importance of family and how to improve family relationships.
