QEH School assembly

Recently I spoke at the QEH Lower School assembly. The students were very welcoming and interested in Friends of Alalay’s work with the street children of Bolivia. On the 28th March they will be doing a sponsored hike to raise money – good luck boys!

Trailblazers’ sponsored sleepout

The Trailblazers’ group (from St. John’s Church, Crowborough) raised a large amount through their ‘sponsored sleep-out’ in which they stayed overnight in cardboard boxes to protect them from the wet and cold, just like the children in Bolivia have to do every night. See photos of their sleep-out HERE. Here’s what their leader had to say about the experience:

“Mission accomplished. 15 young people ranging from 4-15yrs old slept under cardboard on Saturday despite the terrible weather we had during the afternoon they set it up and a little rain in the night. No hair straighteners,or makeup, television, cleaning of teeth or washing. Food out of a dustbin mixed in with flies spiders and underwear!…. It has taught them a lot”
